After conquering the skincare world with her mega-successful age-defying skincare line, Meaningful Beauty, Cindy Crawford now has her sights set on all things hair. The 55-year-old supermodel revealed to WWD that she will be expanding her brand into haircare to address aging hair concerns.
According to Crawford, much of the inspiration for her haircare line came from her own personal experiences with her aging hair, most notably the fact that it was becoming drier and thinner as she entered her 50s.
“We expect our skin is going to age… and your hair, you know it’s going to go grey, but no one really talks about your hair ageing,” she told WWD. “We might say we had a bad haircut, but I think it’s very vulnerable for women to talk about like, ‘Oh my god, my hair is thinning a little bit.’ I think women’s emotional attachment to hair and what it means, in a weird way it’s more emotional than skin.”
While Crawford’s line won’t help you turn back the clock to younger hair, it will help you overcome some of the common signs of aging hair including dullness, breakage, thinning, dehydration, and scalp irritation. The hair collection features a shampoo ($59), a conditioner ($59), and a scalp treatment ($45) — each made with a plant-based keratin, as well as a leave-in spray that works as conditioner and heat-protectant ($36) and a root touch-up palette conceal gray strands ($45). Best of all, the brand’s product formulas contain superoxide dismutase — a French melon-sourced antioxidant extract and pro-aging ingredient that’s found in Crawford’s skincare line.
Launching on June 21, Meaningful Beauty’s hair collection will be available on MeaningfulBeauty.com as well as Amazon, beginning in the fall.
