Emily Chen Joins Danger Jones as its Newest Global Ambassador

08/20/2025

World-renowned hair colorist and educator Emily Chen has officially joined Danger Jones as a global ambassador — bringing not only her artistry but also her insight to help shape the brand’s evolving artist strategy and vision. As a true partner in the brand’s growth, Chen will collaborate closely with the Danger Jones founders and artist community, ensuring that education, artistry, and innovation remain at the core of its global vision. In the coming months, she will join co-founders David and Alexis Thurston on distributor tours across Taiwan and Europe, leading education and strengthening the brand’s connection with artists worldwide.

Alongside blonding experts Tia Lambourn and Chrissy Danielle, Chen will also play a big role in the launch of Epilogue, a new permanent color line debuting early next year.

On the heels of this exciting news, The Tease got in touch with Chen to talk about why it was the time to partner, as well as her favorite Danger Jones products. Read on for more.

The Tease: Why did you decide to join Danger Jones as a Global Ambassador?

Emily Chen: “Make no mistake, I’m very serious about hairdressing — but also, it’s not that serious. What I mean is: I’m serious, passionate, and ride-or-die for this industry. I know how it can change lives for both the person in the chair and person behind the chair. I’m serious about quality education for stylists and owners — but also, education these days can come with a lot of unnecessary fluff, ego, and bullshit.

My mission has always been to educate, inspire and elevate without the nonsense. Just real talk, and with Danger Jones, I began to see that we were very much in alignment in our values and mission. It’s not just a cool name on cool packaging. It’s a brand built by stylists, for stylists, with no ego, just good energy.

Tell us about your favorite Danger Jones products

Chen: Okay… the bleach got me. As an educator, I try new products all the time just to stay current, but it’s rare I come across something I haven’t already seen in the lines we carry. And, as a salon owner, it’s even more rare that something feels worth the disruption of overhauling our inventory systems. So needless to say, I really didn’t want to like it, but I did. The lightener lifts fast and clean, with a consistency that keeps my foils in place.

And the glosses? Don’t even get me started. The texture is a dream to work with, the grey blending from the 0-series is chef’s kiss, and the 10 minute processing time?? Forgettaboutitttttt.
