The LaQuan Smith FW26 show was easily one of NYFW’s most interesting. Celebrity and editorial hairstylist Evanie Frausto was the lead, working alongside True Hair Company, the exclusive hair partner, supporting the runway vision with luxury-grade extensions, wigs, and high-performance styling, and glam support from Mizani Haircare and TYMO Beauty Hair Tools.

Frausto tells The Tease, “The creative direction centered on high-glamour, cinematic, and timeless hair. An homage to Old Hollywood, reimagined with a modern, powerful edge. We gravitated toward structured, loose waves, sculpted volume, and pronounced side or deep center parts to create a look that felt both luxurious and deliberate while maintaining fluid movement. Think brushed-out waves, controlled body, intentional shape, and dramatic root lift.”

He continues, “with the overall vision leaning into bold glamour and high volume, it was essential to work across a diverse cast of models with naturally rich textures to maintain consistency while allowing for subtle individuality in each finish.”

“For added volume and length, we partnered with NYC-based True Hair Company, incorporating their True Signature Hair Bundles and Lacefront Wigs in varied lengths, textures, and shades tailored to each model.”

Get the Look:
- “Preparation began with detangling, drying, and sectioning.
- After installing additional wefts, a heat protectant was applied before curling and setting the hair. To lock in shape, Mizani’s Lived-In Finishing Spray was lightly misted throughout.
- Once set, clips were removed and curls were brushed out to create softness and cohesion. Strategic root teasing provided structure and long-lasting height. Final touches of finishing spray secured the silhouette.
- The result: a sensual, confident finish that fully embodies LaQuan Smith’s bold creative vision.”
