Celebrity hairstylist and co-founder of R+Co and R+Co BLEU, Garren, was once again tasked with creating the hair for Anna Sui’s runway show, landing on a throwback-inspired look with fully modern finishing for FW26.
“Anna’s inspiration was from the punk-turned New Romantic wave at the Blitz nightclub in London. We wanted to put our own spin on it with a 60’s approach to the side part, a Bardot-inspired top knot, and natural texture,” Says Garren.
He adds, “The idea is, you have a healthy scalp, root lift, soft flowing hair, and then it gets ethereal. I don’t like when things look so placed.” Very rock and roll, Very Anna Sui.

Get the Look:
- Prep the hair by spraying Scalp Therapy Densifying & Rebalancing Leave-In Mist to the roots and scalp, and rub it in with your hands.
- Section the hair into two parts, like you’re taking half a ponytail, and leave the sides down. Apply Essential Blow Dry Tonic to the lengths and ends to create touchable texture.
- Depending on hair texture, spray Root Booster Volume Spray or Highest Volumizing Mousse on the roots, then comb through to create volume at the crown.
- Blow dry the top loosely then back comb to the roots and spray the section with Cult Classic Flexible Hairspray.
- If you have fringe, go with the fringe. If hair is long, create a low side part, swish it over, tuck it behind the ear and let tendrils fall.
- Using a small hairband, secure the top section to create a small bump right above the crown.
- Take the tail and back comb it using a flat brush to rough it up to create a nest.
- Spray Cult Classic Flexible Hairspray to lock in the volume then wrap the tail around the crown, brushing and smoothing the edges without combing it out.
- Secure the top knot with long, rough hair pins to anchor it in, and then pull pieces out to create a wispy, looser look.
- For added volume and airiness, spray the finished look with Ultra Dry Texture Spray for fine hair or Lifestyler Volume & Texture Spray for thick hair.
