From First Lady to Fashion Show: Michelle’s Style Transformation

03/19/2019

While the dress code for the First Lady isn’t quite as strict as that of the British royals, and the rules are mostly unwritten, Michelle Obama’s wardrobe during her eight years in the White House didn’t take too many chances until the President Obama started to near the end of his second term.

It’s true that when you’re in that high a position of power, every little action down to the clothes you wear can be misinterpreted as a political message. With that being the case, we can’t blame Michelle for keeping it relatively conservative with most of her selections. After all, we all saw the fallout that can come from simply wearing the wrong jacket.

But the transformation that started toward the end of President Obama’s second term has now become a full-on fashion show. Michelle has wasted no time dishing out some absolutely killer outfits, and her style has seen a drastic transformation since the early days of her husband’s first term in office. From Cushnie silk, to Balencia boots, we are all for the pieces that Michelle has been showing off, and we can’t wait to see more. Check out some of our favorites below.
