How to Get Charli XCX’s Cher-Referencing ’26 Golden Globes Hairstyle

01/13/2026

Once again teaming up with celebrity hairstylist Matt Benns, Charli XCX hit the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet looking like Hollywood royalty — complete with a mega volume blowout, lose waves, and otherworldly shine. The reference? One of the entertainment industry’s biggest: Cher.

Benns tells The Tease, “There’s a really beautiful photograph of her taken back in the 90s in one of these perfect offset moments. I believe it was on set from one of her films. Her hair is the reference, though a little less bouncy.” (Editor’s note: we’re currently, desperately, searching Google Images) He adds, “this year the blowout is back and coming with vengeance.”

Keep reading for a detailed breakdown on Charli’s hairstyle including the exact TRESemmé products Benns used.

  • “Using a wide tooth comb and Mason Pearson brush, I unpinned and brushed out to create this beautiful loose wave, setting in a little volume at the root with the TRESemmé A-list texturizing spray, a pump of the TRESemmé A-list bonding oil for shine and smoothness and a touch of the A- list signature hair fragrance (because have you smelt it yet? – so good).”
