We may throw around the words “hair icon” pretty often these days, but truth be told Jennifer Aniston really is one. Let’s face it: she influenced a generation of women to recreate her infamous “The Rachel” haircut (named after her beloved character Rachel Green) when it first debuted on Friends nearly 27 years ago. And, even now her signature dirty-blonde strands continue to inspire salon appointments.
That’s why it makes total sense that the The Morning Show actress is now joining the likes of Priyanka Chopra and Jonathan Van Ness (and literally every celebrity right now) in launching her very own hair line.
Aniston couldn’t help but share the exciting news in an Instagram post writing, “Meet LolaVie. This product has been in the works for a long time and I’m so excited to finally be able to introduce it to you. So much hard work from our incredible team went into making this line—and we’re really proud to say it’s been made WITHOUT all the bad stuff…we’re paraben-free, silicone-free, sulfate-free, phthalates-free, gluten-free, vegan… and of course CRUELTY-FREE, because we love our animals.”
Called LolaVie — after Aniston’s own nickname, Lola, the haircare line debuted officially on September 8th with its first product: a Glossing Detangler. Retailing for $25, this multi-use spray detangles, smoothes, adds shine, and protects against heat damage thanks to a blend of lemon extract, chia seeds, and vegetable ceramides.
“I love a really good detangler because my hair has gone through so much thrashing,” Aniston told Allure about why she decided to launch the brand with a single product. “I love for a product to have many jobs in one, so it has a heat protector and shine, and so it’s time-efficient.”
The star also revealed to the publication that launching her own haircare line has been a long time coming.
“We’ve been in development for almost five years,” she explained. “I had been involved in another hair company years ago, and that’s where I got the bug of getting to go behind the scenes of how you [choose] ingredients and the process of development and marketing and all of that.”
The actress has already teased on Instagram that “there’s SO much more to come” in terms of new hair products. While we wait for all the LolaVie newness to arrive, we highly suggest getting acquainted with the brand’s Glossing Detangler—which Aniston herself has called “the Swiss Army Knife” of hair products.
