Schwarzkopf Professional Teams Up With THEUNSEEN to Launch First Heat-Activated Holographic Hair Color

05/31/2022

There’s no doubt that you likely have seen some pretty eye-catching hair colors in your line of work as a colorist—think rainbow hair, reverse ombre, and Cruella-inspired two tones. But, as wild as those hair looks may be, we bet they have nothing on the hair colors being developed by Schwarzkopf Professional’s newest hair color innovation.

Meet Colour Alchemy, a prismatic and holographic hair color system that transforms hair in response to light and temperature. Thanks to this innovative heat-activated hair dye, stylists now have the ability to give any of their clients color-changing, iridescent hues—with absolutely no damage to the hair.

Developed in collaboration with THEUNSEEN, the Colour Alchemy series is available in five mesmerizing colors—Scarab, Phoenix, Andrite, Borealis, and Peacock—all of which are inspired by colors and effects found in nature. Unlike static pigmented color, these shades scatter the light in a range of kaleidoscopic hues, which shift in response to temperature. As for what can trigger the color transformation? It can vary from sunlight and body temperature to cooling wind and warming breath to even heat sources like lamps and hairdryers.

“To me, true Alchemy melts together collaboration and curiosity to discover something truly new,” said Lauren Bowker, Founder of THEUNSEEN. “Together with SKP, we formulated Colour Alchemy with a view to put something truly innovative into the hands of our community. The exciting part comes now when you create.”

The Colour Alchemy collection offers a temporary hair color that not only comes in a convenient, easy to apply gel-cream formula, but also that it involves no development time and lasts just one wash. Just apply its color gel to clean, dry hair using a brush, sponge, or your hands and prepare to witness truly stunning holographic hair color effects.
