Veteran-founded Sport Clips Haircuts is saying thank you the way it knows best. On Veterans Day, Wednesday, November 11th, 2026 veterans and active-duty service members can get a free haircut at participating Sport Clips locations nationwide.
More Than a Free Cut
The giveback doesn’t stop at the chair. Participating Sport Clips stores will also donate $2.00 for every haircare service provided on Veterans Day. The donations support the brand’s 13th annual VFW Help A Hero Scholarship campaign, which has raised nearly $17 million and funded more than 3,600 scholarships to help veterans and service members pursue education and civilian careers.
Inside the Scholarship
Sport Clips founder Gordon Logan is an Air Force veteran, and the brand’s support for the military runs deep. The program began in 2007 by providing free phone calls home for service members stationed overseas. In 2013, Sport Clips partnered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to launch the scholarship program.
Through the partnership, service members and veterans can receive up to $5,000 toward tuition and fees as they work to complete academic or technical degrees. The scholarship covers traditional colleges and universities as well as technical and trade schools. Engineering and computer science, business and accounting, and healthcare are the most popular fields of study. Sport Clips and the VFW say the awards help recipients avoid student loans and additional debt.
The Haircuts for Heroes Collection
New for 2026, Sport Clips is also recognizing military service with its military-inspired “Haircuts for Heroes Collection.” Developed by the Sport Clips Artistic Team in partnership with John Paul Mitchell Systems, it features three classic military grooming styles:
- The tapered crew cut
- The high-and-tight fade
- The flat top
If you’re a veteran or active-duty service member, head to a participating Sport Clips on November 11th, 2026, for a free haircut.
