The GLOSSYBOX of My Childhood Dreams

10/03/2022

GLOSSYBOX has solidified its reputation in the beauty industry as one of *the best* subscription boxes around — and I think it’s safe to say that they have outdone themselves with their recent Barbie™ collab.

The Barbie™ X GLOSSYBOX Limited Edition 2022 box’s design as well as products inside include the iconic hot pink and Barbie™ doll imagery, giving an incredible nostalgic feeling. With cosmetics, skincare, tools and accessories inside, this box made me ready to embrace my inner child and get creative at my vanity.

The Original Makeup Eraser ($20), First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Niacinamide Brightening Cream ($7) and the Cuvée Beauty Champagne Infused Eau De Parfum Rollerball ($28) were by far my favorite products.

The reusable makeup eraser absolutely lives up to the hype, as the Barbie™ pink cloth takes off all of my makeup using only water.

First Aid Beauty is, in my opinion, always killing the game no matter the product, but this brightening eye cream truly blew my mind. With just a few days of use in the morning and night after a cleanse, I woke up with lighter dark circles and smoothed under-eyes. I will absolutely be purchasing the full size and incorporating it into my daily routine.

Lately, I’ve been on a real kick to find my signature scent; I think that this Cuvée Rollerball is going to become a staple in my rotation. The only way to describe the scent is as simply fresh — it’s fruity and floral without being overpowering, serving as the perfect hint of subtle elegance.

Honorable mentions for top products include the KNESKO Skin Rose Quartz Antioxidant Collagen Face Mask ($37), ĀTHR Beauty Moonlight Crystal Eyeshadow Palette ($58) and the Floss Highlighter ($18).

The collagen face mask was a luxury surprise for me in this GLOSSYBOX. I was suspicious of the high price tag on this product when bought solo, but dare I say that it might be worth it. The Rose Quartz was incredibly cooling on my skin and was instantly brighter, as if I had a professional treatment.

The Moonlight palette, although incredibly pigmented with a solid formula, I was slightly disappointed in the lack of Barbie™-esque shades. The palette included a range of blues and purples, while I was expecting some amazing hot pinks and shimmer. Still a great product, but I think GLOSSYBOX could have found a better palette to include.

The Floss Highlighter did its job and made my cheekbones shine, specifically when paired with the Spectrum Collections A10 Small Fan Brush (worth $9.99) that’s also included, but was nothing special.

Overall, I was incredibly impressed by this Barbie™ X GLOSSYBOX collaboration — the packaging and products included felt super on-brand for both iconic companies. The box introduced me to some new brands that have not been included in GLOSSYBOX before and that I’ve never tried, but I’ll absolutely be adding into my beauty staples. For an attractive price tag of only $35, GLOSSYBOX has lived up to my childhood dreams!
