The Monthly Edit: Every Product Our Editors Loved in June

07/13/2021

As beauty editors, we’re always discovering and trying out fun, new products. While not every hair oil, lipstick, or serum becomes a favorite, the ones that do definitely deserved to be shared with our fellow hair and beauty lovers (i.e. YOU!).

Each month, we’ll be highlighting the products that our editors can’t and won’t stop talking about. Below, see their top picks for the month of June.

Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara

“After many years of trying different mascaras recommended to me, I still feel like I can’t find the perfect product. On one of my many trips to Sephora, I remembered Clinique’s High Impact Volume Mascara and decided to give it another try. And I’m so glad I did! Adding a swipe to my lashes on a no-makeup day or using it to go full glam, this mascara truly never disappoints. Using it leaves my lashes looking longer, fuller, and curled. Not to mention, it’s safe for sensitive eyes, which is always a plus.” — Emily Lentz, beauty features editor

Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combo/Oily Skin

“I’ve been playing around with Revlon’s ColorStay foundation and it has great coverage when applied with a foundation brush or beauty blender. However, I like lighter coverage so for the summer days, I like to mix it with a bit of my SPF face lotion and just apply it with my hands. Even with just bare hands, it looks natural and clean — no peeling or “caking” at all, and best of all, I don’t get break outs whatsoever!” — Jade Bartier Protat, editorial intern

Gucci L’Obscur Mascara

“I don’t wear a ton of mascara often but, when I do it’s usually L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara.  However, I will say that I recently received a sample of Gucci’s L’Obscur Mascara and I’ve become quite a fan. First of all, it’s super buildable—with just a few coats, I was able to take my stubby little lashes to Kardashian-level proportions. Not to mention, I love how its tiny brush really gets in there and not only coats every single one of my lashes but also defines them. Plus, I mean, how stunning is that packaging?” — Camille Nzengung, hair features editor

GlamGlow Supermud Charcoal Instant Treatment Mask

“I’ve recently been on a journey in trying to find skincare products to help with clearing blackheads and unclogging pores. While perusing the aisles at Sephora, I came across GlamGlow’s beloved Supermud Charcoal Instant Mask and had to give it a try. Since I started using it on a weekly basis, my pores have become noticeably smaller, my texture softer, and skin less oily. I was actually surprised at how well the mask has worked! It’s definitely on the pricier side, but it’s totally worth it.” — E.L.

Hempz Pink Pomelo & Himalayan Sea Salt Herbal Body Moisturizer

“Not sure if body lotion fits in with this but I’ve also always had a soft spot for Hempz body lotion (the Vanilla Plum was SO nice until that scent was discontinued). The lotion is light and spreadable but still leaves the skin feeling hydrated and soft. Best of all, it doesn’t leave a sticky or heavy feeling when it dries. My favorite scent right now is Pink Pomelo and Himalayan Sea Salt. It’s a herbal moisturizer so it’s 100 percent vegan and is made with 100 percent pure natural hemp seed oil (don’t worry, you don’t get any effects from it — just moisturization!)” — J.B.L.

Soap & Glory The Scrub of Your Life

“I’d just like to say that I’ve been a fan of this body scrub way before it went viral on TikTok. It’s been my go-to body buffer for days when my skin needs some extra TLC. As for why I’m such a big fan? Well, besides it’s adorable retro pink packaging, this scrub does an amazing job of not only cleansing my skin, but keeping it ultra-smooth and polished —thanks to it’s super thick, gel-like formula which contains these pink exfoliating beads throughout. Not to mention, it lathers really well and has the most delicious floral fragrance.” — C.N.
