Unforgettable Beauty Moments from Our Favorite Asian Actresses

05/21/2021

Over the last year or so, the conversation surrounding Asian representation has become more and more prominent. With this month being Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, it’s important that we take the time to acknowledge the influence that Asian celebrities have on our culture — even in the beauty space. We’re honoring some our favorite AAPI actresses by showcasing some of their best glam moments.

Here are nine times Asian actresses have completely slayed the beauty game.

Awkwafina

Awkwafina’s makeup for the 2019 Met Gala still has us reeling. The rhinestone-filled gold eyeshadow paired with dark pink lipstick was perfect for the glamorous event. Thanks to makeup artist Kirin Bhatty, the Ocean’s Eight star’s entire look still holds up even years later.

Lana Condor

Lana Condor’s glam is always on point. Whether she’s on a red carpet, posting selfies on Instagram or acting on-screen, the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before star never disappoints. This electric blue eye liner and pink lip from Clarissa Luna was perfect for a day of press in early 2020.

Mindy Kaling

Another star constantly serving lewks is Mindy Kaling. The comedy actress went for a bold look for the premiere of Late Night back in 2019, and we’re obsessed! This bright red lip paired with smokey eye and glowing skin from Janice Kinjo is everything.

Lucy Liu

A vision in purple, Why Women Kill actress Lucy Liu brought soft glam, rosy cheeks and a glowing complexion to the 2019 Tony Awards red carpet. With makeup supplied by Mario Dedivanovic, the star’s defined brows and thin eye liner reminds us of the power of minimal glam.

Olivia Munn

Olivia Munn is another star who always slays the beauty game. This glam moment from the 2019 Critics’ Choice Awards shows that a classic red lip and bold eye liner will never go out of style. The X-Men Apocalypse star’s gorgeous glam is all thanks to makeup artist Patrick Ta.

Gemma Chan

Another iconic makeup moment that came out of the 2019 Met Gala is this shining glam on Crazy Rich Asians actress Gemma Chan. Thanks to makeup artist Monika Blunder, the star’s silver shadow and pink lip paired perfectly with her stunning Elizabeth Taylor-inspired ensemble.

Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh is the epitome of timeless beauty. Whether she’s gracing the cover of a magazine or attending an award show, the Killing Eve star’s glam is always on point. Makeup artist Dani Kimiko Vincent supplied the star with a subtle but stunning look for Time Magazine’s 2019 edition of the most influential people. And we’re loving it!

Constance Wu

Possibly one of the most memorable looks from the 2019 Academy Awards, Constance Wu was a sight in yellow. With glam from Molly Greenwald, the Fresh Off the Boat star rocked the dark lip, bronzed cheeks and highlight of our dreams.

Ashley Park

Last but not least, Ashley Park’s Critics’ Choice Awards glam from this year is one look we haven’t stopped thinking about. The Emily in Paris star’s bronzed complexion paired with nude lip and light pink eye shadow is exactly what we imagine when we think of red carpet beauty. And that’s thanks to makeup artis Melissa Hernandez!
