You heard it here first. Following the Oscars, where Miley Cyrus rocked a Jessica Rabbit-inspired hairstyle on the red carpet and on stage as a presenter, celebrity hairstylist Bob Recine gave Cyrus a haircut. And not just any cut — micro bangs, about an inch above her (bleached) eyebrows!
The cut coupled with Cyrus’s brows and the ponytail made quite the statement. Such a departure from the over-the-top glam of just a few hours prior. Naturally, we needed to know it all and got in touch with Recine and the Nexxus Haircare team.

Get the Look
- Miley loved the new micro bangs so much, she wanted to enhance them even more, leading Recine to use the Nexxus Slick Stick to section the bangs into wedges.
- He then took Miley’s dry hair and added a generous amount of the Nexxus Volume Medium Hold Mousse to brush it back into a tight, “upswept, V shaped pony” at the crown of the head. Recine focused on creating a V shaped to enhance the geometrical design of Miley’s facial structure, along with the dress.
- Once the pony was secured, Recine used a blow dryer and mists of the XXL Volume Medium Hold Hairspray to create a wind-blown, shaggy pony instead of perfect glam pony.
