Natasha Lyonne’s Hair Wasn’t Her Only Statement-Making Accessory at the ’26 Golden Globes

01/13/2026

Natasha Lyonne’s fiery red hair, which very often looks like a lion’s mane even if it feels lazy to describe it as such, was impossible to miss on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet. Styled by frequent collaborator Larry Sims, Lyonne was flash of big, loose curls and sequins (Valentino). We stan!

Importantly, in an acknowledgment of the dissonance between the pomp of the 83rd annual awards show and the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good by ICE in Minneapolis earlier in the week, the actress-writer-director-producer also wore a couple of pins on her dress and bag with the phrases “ICE OUT” and “BE GOOD.” Lyonne took opportunities to speak out against ICE on the red carpet as well — see below.

Returning to the hair, which only worked to bring attention to the pins, if you think about it, The Tease got in touch with Sims to understand how the curls came together. Scroll for that step-by-step.

Get the Look:

  1. “Natasha sat in the chair with wet hair fresh out of the shower. We started off by applying our Flawless By Gabrielle Union Leave In Conditioner to detangle & add moisture along with Flawless Shine Enhancing Heat Protectant before blow drying.
  2. I then grabbed chunks of Natasha’s hair, barrel twisted them clockwise around my finger to create an elongated loose texture, and blew 80% off the moisture with my Dyson and nozzle attachment. For the remaining 20%, I finished off her blow drying by diffusing. It created the volume that we wanted along with the elongated curl texture.
  3. After Natasha’s hair was all dry, I created a deep side part over her left eyebrow as a guideline. I then added a combo of 12″ and 14″ human hair clip-ins to her hair that were colored by Aura Friedman along with Natasha’s natural locks.
  4. To create the perfect blend of texture with Natasha’s hair, I loosely wrapped sections of each clip in opposite directions while stretching before cooling. The finished texture was soft and airy.
  5. Lastly, I twisted Natasha’s fringe away from her face and secured with hair pins. I then brushed the left side of her hair closely to her head and secured with hair pins. I finished off the look with ISO Hair spray for the perfect hold.”
