11/12/2020

Get ready for a super-inspiring day filled with beauty and fun! America’s Beauty Brunch is almost here and trust us, this is one event that you won’t want to miss.

Designed by and for women in beauty, America’s Beauty Brunch is a one-of-a-kind virtual extravaganza taking place on Monday, November 16th from 10 a.m to 2 p.m CDT. The virtual brunch, which is hosted by Cosmetologists Chicago, will be jam-packed with throughout-provoking speaker sessions focused on personal wellness, online discussion, music, dancing, prizes, and loads of fun.

The event has a pretty impressive lineup of speakers headlining the event including women’s empowerment leader and life coach, Christina Sthair; dating expert, Pepper Schwartz; financial guru, Nicole Peterkin; and Olympic gymnast, Shannon Miller. Also in attendance is Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Dawn Jackson Blatner ; Redken General Manager, Candy Gebhart; JOICO Senior Director of Business Development, Lindsay Rumpel; Profit Expert, Ronit Enos; and President of Cosmetologist Chicago and salon owner, Karen Gordon — all of whom will be acting as event hosts. Chicago producer, DJ Fingerbeats and TikTok dancer, Annie Wheeler will also be making appearances.

Ahead of the America’s Beauty Brunch, The Tease spoke to some of the Cosmetologists Chicago team members behind the incredible event — Memberships and Digital Content Specialist, Nicole Strykowski and Director of Finance and IT, Amy Brown — as well as event speaker, Ronit Enos. Learn all about the event planning process as well as what you can expect during the big day!

The Tease: How did the concept for America’s Beauty Brunch come about?

Ronit Enos: The concept for the Beauty Brunch was born a year ago before COVID-19. We wanted to create an event for women by women in the beauty industry.

Amy Brown: Ronit is correct. The idea started over a year ago… and has moved from a Women’s Summit to WIL (Women in Leadership) to America’s Beauty Brunch. What a way to start off — running!

What did the planning process look like for a virtual event of this scale?

Nicole Strykowski: Busy!! This was the first large project that I personally worked on with ABS and I have found there is something new to do every day. From creating fun marketing material, meeting amazing industry leaders, and even learning a TikTok dance, this project has definitely kept me on my toes!

The event has an impressive panel of powerhouse speakers, hosts, and special guests whose careers span the worlds of gymnastics, finance, beauty, nutrition, and social media , among others. How did you all curate this list?

Nicole: With the craziness that this year brought us, we wanted to curate a special event with topics that touch on everything you’d be talking to your girls with at brunch. We chose intelligent women who will give our audience the valuable content they need during these times.

The event centers on topics relating to mental, emotional, and physical wellness. Why was it so important that the event focus on these specific areas?

Ronit: The idea was to inspire the beauty professional women to become better leaders, better business owners, and better providers.

Amy: We wanted to offer our members a day for themselves —not just as a professional cosmetologist but, as a person. Our speakers offer important topics for our members which can be passed onto their clients as well.

What can attendees expect when they attend the event on Monday?

Nicole: They can expect all the TEA! Brunch is going to be full of spicy topics, amazing giveaway prizes, and interactive experience, and a whole lot of good vibes!

What do you hope that attendees take away from the event?

Nicole: I hope viewers leave feeling like they just talked to all their girlfriends, re-energized, excited, and motivated to make the rest of 2020 incredible!

Amy: We want everyone to feel refreshed and ready to conquer 2021!

With live events out of the question due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, why has it been so important for your company to lean into digital programming like your upcoming virtual event?

Nicole: We have to keep the connection alive! Humans need to feel connected to each other to continue thriving. We are trying to create as similar an in-person experience as we can with our interactive platform. These events and online connections will ensure our next in-person event to be even more exciting and special. Our goal is to continue spreading the SAME LOVE to our community.

Is there anything else that you would like our readers to know about the event?

Nicole:  All of us here at America’s Beauty Show have been working super hard to make this event MEMORABLE for our amazing members and community. Our goal is to provide you with valuable content, support, and good vibes to take back to your home and business. We cannot wait to show you everything else that we have in store for our members. We are here to serve you!

Amy: Well said, Nicole. We are here to serve you!
