If Your Client Wants Blue Hair, You Might Just Need Pravana’s Newest Shades

10/28/2025

With “King Kylie” trending again and blue hair making its way back into our lives, it’s officially the time to go bold. For stylists looking to deliver the perfect blue transformation with semi-permanent, non-oxidative hair color, the two newest blue shades from PRAVANA’s cult-favorite ChromaSilk VIVIDS lineup, Tempted and All Nighter, just might do the trick.

These rich, dark blues were designed for level 7+ clients but deliver striking results across all levels. Think midnight dimension, moody depth, and denim-inspired shine, exactly the kind of energy defining 2025 color trends.

Celebrity colorist Jess Gonzalez, you know her from her work with Billie Eilish, Snoh Aalegra, Kehlani and others, is a respected blue expert and says no one should be scared of the shade. “Blue shades can complement anyone,” she told The Tease. “When choosing a blue shade, olive skin tones tend to look better with darker blues and lighter skin tones with paler icy blues.”

For some clients, a fully blue moment is just not never going to happen. If they’re blue curious, Gonzalez recommends a softer approach: “If [they] don’t want to fully commit to blue, tips are a great option, that way if it does not fully fade all the way out, you can cut it out!”

She also recommends trying a ghost root for a high-fashion take, a look she’s created for Eilish.“Ghost roots are a fun way to add some vivid color to your hair, but one that does require some commitment because it’s from the roots,” said Gonzalez. She added, “When doing ghost roots, I also love PRAVANA Blissful Blue from the VIVIDS Pastels Collection. That way, there is flexibility in changing colors later.”
