Sabrina Carpenter left quite an impression on the red carpet at the 2025 Grammys Award last night, when she arrived serving up easily one of the most dazzling looks of the night.
The “Short N’ Sweet” singer, who’s had quite possibly the biggest year of her career yet, also had just as big of a night at the awards show. Not only was she up for a whopping six Grammy nominations—two of which she won in the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance categories— but she also delivered a spellbinding performance of “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” on-stage as well.
For her moment in the spotlight, Carpenter was Hollywood glamour personified, wearing a jaw-dropping baby blue custom JW Anderson gown that featured an assortment of feathers and pearls, as well as a plunging open-back. While her bedazzled dress definitely got our attention, it was her hair that we couldn’t stop talking about—or staring at.
To complement her soft and sultry look, the singer sported an ultra-elegant, tousled French Twist that was styled by celebrity hairstylist Evanie Frausto, using an assortment of Redken products. And not only was he responsible for Carpenter’s perfect undone updo, but he also styled the pop star’s (and first-ever Redken Global Ambassador) strands for her live performance, too.
The Tease got all the details on how Frausto brought to life not one—but two incredible looks for Sabrina Carpenter at the 2025 Grammys. Keep scrolling for his step-by-step breakdown of the singer’s red carpet and on-stage performance looks.
Red Carpet
Get the Look:
- “First, Sabrina shampooed and conditioned her hair using the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo ($34.00) and Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Conditioner ($34.00) to deeply nourish and moisturize.
- After rinsing, we applied Redken Quick Blowout ($28.00) from roots to ends for heat protection and smoothness.
- While her hair was still damp, we worked in Redken Stay High Mousse ($30.00), brushing it through for even distribution.
- To add extra volume, we applied a touch of Redken Root Lifter ($28.00) at the crown.
- For the blowout, we used the L’Oréal Professionnel AirLight Pro ($475.00) along with a 1.25-inch metal round brush, setting the hair for maximum body and movement.
- Once the blowout was complete, we curled her hair with a one-inch iron, pinning each curl to set. As the curls cooled, we misted Redken Control Hair Spray ($28.00) all over for added hold.
- After the curls had set, we took them down and brushed them out to create soft, effortless waves.
- Then, with a swift and seamless touch, I styled a French twist at the back—keeping it polished yet relaxed to highlight the dramatic open-back silhouette and beautiful diamond necklace she’s wearing.
- We ensured the shape remained clean and structured, while in the front, we left a soft, flirty texture to create the illusion of a chic, short haircut.
- Of course, we styled her signature bangs, enhancing the effortless, sultry vibe. The final look was an undone yet refined updo—capturing that perfect balance of glamour and spontaneity, like the effortlessly sexy aftermath of a night out.”
Performance
Get the Look:
- “For Sabrina’s performance look, we transitioned from the updo she wore on the carpet, refreshing her hair by lightly dampening it with water and a touch of Redken Quick Blowout ($28.00).
- We then quickly dried it with our hands using the L’Oréal Professionnel AirLight Pro ($475.00) to smooth out any kinks from being pinned up.
- Once the hair was prepped, we used a ¾-inch curling iron to curl the top section—everything above the occipital bone—setting it for added shape and movement.
- For the bottom half, we opted for a ½-inch curling iron, creating extra bounce and volume at the ends. As the curls set, we misted Redken Control Hair Spray ($28.00) throughout for hold before taking them down.
- To enhance the texture, we applied Redken Dry Texture Spray ($30.00) giving the hair a soft, brushed-out, fluffy finish.
- We then locked in the look with another light mist of Redken Control Hair Spray ($28.00), perfected her signature bangs, and that was it—the perfect voluminous and glamorous style for her performance.”
