Jenna Ortega and her hairstylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez bucked the Old Hollywood-inspired trend at this year’s Golden Globes and, instead, brought some of their witchy, gothy goodness.
Deleon Ramirez tells The Tease, “For this year‘s Golden Globes, I wanted to stay true to the vibe that Jenna and I have been creating for the past year, dark, vampy and a bit goth. I’m not just inspired by Jenna‘s character in the show ‘Wednesday,’ but also her true personality. We also considered the esthetic of the [designer Dilara Findikoglu] who often incorporates really cool hair texture and braids in her visuals.” He adds, “with all that being said I still wanted the look to feel bit effortless as if it was something Jenna could do herself. My go-to to create the texture had to be my favorite Rizos Curls products.”
Read on for the exact steps Deleon Ramirez took to get Jenna Ortega red carpet ready.
Get the Look:
- “I started on damp hair and sprayed Rizos Curls Beach Waves Texturizing Salt Spray at the roots to build volume with a lived in natural texture. On the ends I applied a few drops of Rizos Curls Nourish Oil, and I dried everything with my Air Light Pro for a smooth finish.
- Once dried, I then braided random sections around the head, sprayed each one with Rizos Curls Alcohol-Free Hair Spray, then flat ironed them. I let them sit to cool and set.
- Once cooled, I unbraided each section. This created a light crimped texture for a bit of a Victorian vibe.
- I pulled everything back into an effortless low bun leaving soft romantic strand to frame the face. With my Rizos Curls Sleek Taming Wand, I brushed around the hairline to control unwanted stands. To finished I sprayed Rizos Curls Alcohol-Free Hair Spray for a light hold.“
