Alfredo Lewis, Chief Engagement Officer of Matrix, never planned to become an educator or an internet sensation, but one class changed his trajectory for the better. From the beginning, it was clear that Alfredo was going to do whatever he set his mind to and with over 20 years of experience in the industry, it seems that he has done just that. From traveling around the world teaching, fostering new connections with creators to being a brand spokesperson, his passion for supporting fellow hairstylists and sharing his love for the industry through community is evident.

“I think he say the determination. He’s like ‘come on back, what do you want?’ you know at the end of the day. They said they didn’t have anything. But two days later they called me and they said ‘You know what, we have somebody that really needs an assistant. Can you start tomorrow?’.”
“An artist is an artist. A hairdresser is a hairdresser. Speaking is something we do to our clients everyday. I think speaking and communication is key to success, whether you’re behind the chair or at a trade show.”
“The opportunities are endless. You don’t have to do what I did. There are so many things that you can be. You can be a salon owner. You can be booked solid, like I was in the salon. You can start your own product line. You can work with brands. You can be an executive. I didn’t go to college. I went to beauty school and I ended up being in one of the highest roles that you can be in, in a professional hair care brand, doing education for the whole world. That’s unreal. But if I can do it, anyone can do it.”
