Emma Stone is trading in her signature red for something warmer. The actress debuted a stunning hair color transformation at the Louis Vuitton 2027 Cruise Collection Show in New York, and it’s already one of the most-talked about celebrity color moments this year. Celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham, Schwarzkopf Professional’s U.S Creative Director of Color & Technique, is behind the look – taking Stone lighter with a soft, dimensional blonde refresh she’s calling “‘Caramel Blonde.’”
The new shade is a dark blonde featuring soft ribbons of brightness throughout the hair, with brighter pops framing the face. It’s warm, lived-in, and effortlessly expensive-looking – exactly what you’d expect from one of Hollywood’s most trusted colorists.
The Technique: Foiled Cashmere
To achieve the transformation, Cunningham turned to the Foiled Cashmere technique – one of the defining hair color trends of 2026. Inspired by late ‘90s and early 2000s icons like Carilyn Bessette-Kennedy and the era’s supermodels, the technique is built on meticulous precision foiling that makes a once high-maintenance look far more attainable.
“Emma had been red for a while, so the goal was to carefully transition her into a softer, more dimensional dark blonde without losing shine or richness. To achieve the transformation, I used Schwarzkopf Professional’s Foiled Cashmere technique, using extensive precision foiling to carefully lift Emma from her previous red tone while still keeping the hair soft, shiny, and healthy-looking. After lightening, I went back in with lowlights to help neutralize any remaining warmth and create a more balanced, expensive-looking blonde with soft dimension throughout.
From there, I layered in lowlights using Schwarzkopf Professional Igora Vibrance to help neutralize warmth and create a more balanced, expensive-looking blonde result. We kept brighter ribbons around the face for that illuminated effect, but overall the tone is very soft, sandy, and natural in person. I finished the look with the new Schwarzkopf Professional BlondMe Glow Toner to blend and soften everything seamlessly,” Cunningham explained.
The Products
Cunningham relied on Schwarzkopf Professional’s BlondMe Premium Lightener 9+ alongside Igora Vibrance to build the tone, finishing with the new BlondMe Glow Toner to blend and soften the overall result.
