With this month marking Earth Month, it is necessary to highlight the work being done behind-the-scenes by brands to further sustainability and create eco-friendly products. Olivia Garden is one brand that is definitely a part of that list. The hair tools brand is highly committed to sustainable practices and it shows through their recycling programs, eco-friendly product innovations, and impactful social media initiatives.
The brand’s eco-efforts are part of its core identity, so much that Olivia Garden it’s even featured in Ulta Beauty™’s Conscious Beauty program, which was created by the retailer to empower consumers with transparency and choices by highlighting products with clean ingredients, cruelty-free, vegan, and sustainable packaging.
Recently, the brand launched a Recycling Program utilizing TerraCycle’s freight recycling services, which allows customers to send in their used hairbrushes and styling tools, Olivia Garden or not, for recycling. To motivate people to do so, participants received a 10% discount on any Store.OliviaGarden.com purchases after giving up their tools.
Another important program is its innovative omgOG initiative, which turns Instagram likes and comments into nonprofit donations. To date, the program has contributed more than $8,000 to over 20 organizations, including environmental groups like the National Forest Foundation, Ocean Conservancy, and World Wildlife Fund.
Other programs include lines of their acclaimed recycled tools—all done in solely recycled material, including the Recycled OG Brush Collection, Holiday Candy Brushes, and OG Luxe Brush Collection.
“At Olivia Garden we are more than just a hair tool company. We’re real people working with real people every day,” Anne Maza, co-owner of Olivia Garden said. “It is important to us to use our brand as a force for good.”
