This is not your typical root lifting spray. It’s a perfect addition if you enjoy voluminous hair but need to touch-up every other day, since it wont leave your hair unmanageable or waxy and the lift is a reasonable one, accompanied by a natural feel. This is not the spray you’re looking for if you want a pageant-queen-type lift; this is a very natural, bouncy lift for alternate days.
At-home Use
My hair rarely holds onto volume, plus, any professional styling spray is overwhelming or scary when blowdrying it or styling it at home. I usually have to work fast before sprays dry and need to make sure I apply heat in the direction I want the hair to lay. For someone who is just starting to style their hair and wants volume, it can be a little nervewrecking.
I was definitely skeptical when I saw the spray’s instructions say “apply a generous amount,” but decided to lose the fear and immediately saw why they ask users to be generous during application. I applied the AstroLift, applied heat and put in rollers, and once I took those off, I could still run my fingers through my hair. My hair moved freely, held onto volume, and it stayed that way for nearly a whole day (a win for someone with really flat hair).
For me, the spray’s warm, sweet scent was a pleasant surprise. If you love a scented haircare product or that is a requirement for you, and, or you sweat a lot, your scalp starts to smell after day three, the AstroLift is a great addition to your routine. If only for its scent, this spray is a great buy for wash day or to style your hair in between washes.
Its top notes are bergamot, raspberry, sheer greens and when it dries, the notes of amber and sandalwood will remain embedded in your scalp. It’s a chic and warm scent that’s beautifully crafted and shockingly complex for a hair product whose main selling point is not its smell. It really shows the work that went into formulating the spray.
