Iconic actress Goldie Hawn debuted a pageboy cut at the 97th Academy Awards that looked stunning paired with her signature show-stopping full bangs. The actress rocked a butter yellow bejeweled Dolce & Gabbana dress, which worked with her new cut perfectly.
Her longtime hairstylist Kacey Welch says she wanted to stay true to Hawn’s signature style while giving her a modern, refreshed cut. For those wanting to recreate the voluminous hairstyle, Welch shared with us the step-by-step on how to achieve the hairdo. Keep scrolling for the complete look breakdown.

- Welch clarified that “to maintain bangs like hers requires maintenance and a baby trim every 4-6 weeks. This also helps complement Hawn’s natural features while keeping her bangs light and full!”
- After the trim, Welch says she always starts with squeaky-clean hair before any service or styling.
- Then, If applying heat, she always recommends using a heat protectant; “however, outside of that, I tend to be more reserved with products and only apply them when needed. I find more times than not, they often weigh the hair down, taking away from its natural movement, especially when wearing extensions.”
- For some added volume and density, she added a minimal amount of invisible Kacey Welch Method Tape-In Extensions on the sides and trimmed them to her natural length. She said that “doing so helps maintain her natural curl and iconic shape that she is so widely known for throughout the years! Goldie’s hair is incredible and a true anomaly, as most women I know would kill to be a natural blonde like her!”
- Once the invisible tape-in extensions were in place, she then did a full Velcro Roller set on Hawn and let them sit for 30 minutes to ensure they were cool and dry.
- After 30 minutes, she applied a light finishing spray before taking them down.
- After removing her roller set, she brushed the curls out using my Kacey Welch Method Brush for Everyone to give the hair some natural movement and life!
