In her latest film, Klara and the Sun, actress Jenna Ortega plays an “artificial friend,” i.e. a robot, so it makes sense that she’d go in the opposite direction for her press tour looks. Very soft and lived-in, very human.

For the London premiere, Ortega wore a vintage-inspired slip dress, on brand in “Klara” sun yellow, with a chic lace headpiece and her hair set in loose curls by her go-to hairstylist, Cesar DeLeon Ramírez. DeLeon Ramírez says, “the hair needed to feel soft, glamorous and a bit retro.” And he delivered!

Get the Look:
- “Gorgeous hair starts with the prep, so I prepped the hair with Joico’s Dream Blowout Glass leave-in spray. This leave-in seals moisture into the cuticle, giving you glass like shine and frizz control for up to 72 hours.
- I blow dried the hair smooth and once dried I then curled and pinned each section to set the waves. I used a 1.5 inch Marcel Iron but before curling each section, I sprayed Joico’s Heat Hero for added heat protection. If you want to achieve this soft effortless wave, I recommend allowing the pinned sections to set for as long as possible before brushing them out.
- Once the curls are set and have cooled down, I brush everything out with a soft bristle brush, and finish with a high hold, high shine hairspray to hold everything in place. My go to finishing spray is Joico’s Hold Hero. It has a long lasting hold that is still soft with lots of movement and ultimate shine.”
