South Korean actress, Hoyeon Jung, hit the red carpet for the premiere of her film “Hope,” at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival looking like a vision with the dreamiest half-up, half-down look.
Frequent collaborator, celebrity hairstylist, Jenny Cho, created the stunning look with ghd tools. Cho shares, “For Hoyeon’s look for the ‘Hope’ premiere in Cannes, I wanted the hair to feel soft, feminine, and fluid to complement the movement and delicacy of her silver Louis Vuitton flower-beaded gown.”
Read on for a detailed breakdown, including the exact tools and techniques Cho used.
Get the Look:
- On damp hair, create a clean center part and blow dry the hair using the new ghd Speed and a ghd Oval Dressing Brush. Start at the nape and work forward through the front sections for a smooth, polished blow out.
- Once the hair is fully dry, resection from the nape in one-inch sections. Lightly mist each section with hairspray, then curl the hair under and alternate sections away from the face using the ghd Chronos Curve Grand Iron . After each curl, gently stretch the section downward while it’s still warm to create softer, elongated waves.
- From ear to ear, create a horizontal section and pull the top half of the hair into a half-up style, securing it just below the crown with a hair tie and bobby pins. Once secured, apply a touch of styling cream to refine and polish the shape of the ponytail.
- Gently pull a few delicate strands around the hairline. Mist lightly with hairspray to shape the pieces softly across the forehead, then finish the look an all-over spritz of hairspray.
