Kylee Heath Shares the Key to Amy Poehler’s ‘Playful’ Golden Globes Hairstyle

01/13/2026

Amy Poehler hit the red carpet for the 83rd annual Golden Globes like a ray of sunshine with a bright, bubbly blonde, thanks to Tracey Cunningham, and a bouncy blowout by frequent collaborator Kylee Heath. Poehler would later take home the first-ever Golden Globe Award for Best Podcast, “Good Hang” for those who don’t already subscribe, but her hair was an immediate winner to us.

Heath tells The Tease, “We were inspired by Amy’s outfit and wanted the glam to complement it — so we kept the hair down, tousled with a fresh and playful edge.” Keep reading for the steps Heath took and the exact products she used.

  1. “Starting on damp hair I applied Kérastase Gloss Absolu. I love this product because it’s a one stop shop. This all-in-one leave-in, first detangles and then protects it from heat while I style and leaves the hair bouncy, shiny and frizz free. It’s the perfect base for a long night!
  2. I blow dried the hair, using a small round brush, and over directing the hair to create volume and body.
  3. Once the hair was dry, I applied 2 drops of Kérastase Gloss Drops to my hands and ran it from the mid shaft through the ends for a silk base to the texture I was about to add.
  4. Then, I created a center part then worked my way around the head, from the bottom up with a 3/4 in curling iron. We wanted the texture to be a little playful, and soft. So I curled the front away from the face and then throughout the back and side occasionally curled the hair going in another direction.
  5. Once the texture was in, I gave it a little toss with my fingers and then tucked the left side behind her ear. I always feel like a tuck gives the hair modern twist.”
