04/30/2020

As salon doors begin to cautiously re-open state by state, it’s been a trying time for hairstylists who have been out of work for weeks due to COVID-19. Among the brands aiming to provide immediate aid to the salon industry is L’Oréal USA. The beauty company brought together all of its brands, including Matrix, Biolage, RedkenL’Oréal Professionnel , Pureology, Mizani, KérastaseShu Uemura Art of Hair, Pulp Riot and Baxter of California to announce the #SupportYourStylist initiative.

On National Stylist Appreciation Day, L’Oréal USA is asking all customers and clients to join together to help struggling stylists by donating to the Professional Beauty Association’s COVID-19 Relief Fund. The relief fund gives short-term aid for needs such as food and bills. L’Oréal USA and its employees have kicked off fundraising efforts and have set a goal to raise $2.5M.

With this partnership with the PBA, L’Oréal USA hopes to reach as many stylists as possible in need. Along with donating, L’Oréal recommends that clients pre-book salon appointments, give generous gratuity and purchase products through referral links.

Finally, one of the most important parts of the #SupportYourStylist campaign is showing gratitude on social media. By sharing the below image, clients and customers can give the praise and admiration that stylists deserve during this time.
