Addison Rae is seemingly singlehandedly saving pop music these days, with a critically-acclaimed album and world tour. And, on her days off, she’s electrifying red carpets with her choices — especially hairstyles.
Take, for example, the 2025 Academy Museum Gala in which the multi hyphenate wore her hair in loose set waves, with a side part. Not effortless or undone-looking as per some trends, but intentional and unbothered. Rae’s hairstylist, Lucas A. Wilson, tells The Tease that was the point, saying, “For this look we knew we wanted to keep it nice and polished but still quite movable and soft.”
Read on for a detailed deconstruction of her red carpet hairstyle directly from Wilson, including the exact products he used.
Get the Look:
- “To start I usually add as much moisture as I can to Addison’s hair. I use K18 Leave-in Mask on her wet hair. Really working that product in with my hands.
- I then added a ton of Bumble and bumble. Thickening because we were looking for soft volume in the end. I blow dried that in and set her hair using Hot Tools’ 1 1/2 inch iron off her side part.
- Once she cooled the key to this look is to brush the hair a lot so it all lives together. Adding some of Oribe’s Supershine and classic Elnett gives it that glossy finish. Hair colorist Matt Rez does such amazing work on her color and I feel like this product combo really shows it off.”
