Ayo Edebiri is already on a legendary run, with a mess of IMDB credits in the can, and now she’s Matthieu Blazy’s first Chanel ambassador. It makes sense then that for the 2025 Academy Museum that she’d wear a design from his show, which felt like just moments ago. Edebiri’s hair, by celebrity hairstylist Miles Jeffries, was smartly put up — but not in a boring “fashion” chignon.
Jeffries tells The Tease, “we talked about incorporating a Hime style haircut in the front with the rest of the hair in a soft upswept sort of ‘B’Day’ style on top. But make it Chanel.” But of course!
Below, Jeffries breaks down the style in detail — including the exact products he used on Edebiri.
Get the Look:
- “You want to start with a clean hydrated canvas. The Bumble and bumble. Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner are great for this.
- I then blow dried the hair with the Olivia Garden SuperHP Hair Dryer and a YS Park Black Carbon Tiger Round Brush to stretch and smooth.
- Once all the hair was dry, I went through with the ghd Chronos Flat Iron to really seal the cuticle and shape the hair into a curl.
- After adding some extensions, we cut a very 1920s-meets-slightly-emo-bang with a blunt layer, stopping right at the jaw light to hug the face.
- To finish, I swept the curls up and nuanced them atop her head to best suit her and balance the overall look. Finish with Oribe Superfine Strong Hairspray.“
