Actress Nana Mensah hit the 2025 SAG Awards red carpet with the haircut of the evening — a sleek bob with a daring, asymmetrical micro bang swooped ever just so by Miles Jeffries. Simply put, there was nothing like it on the red carpet. Certainly nothing better.
This cut is to the ’25 SAG Awards what Emma Stone’s pixie was to the ’25 Golden Globes. Easily the night’s best, and one of this award season’s most interesting hairstyles, period.
The Tease got in touch with Jeffries who broke down the inspiration, saying, “Nana’s SAG awards look is a nod to the 1920s bob mixed with my timeless modern roots in cutting from Vidal Sassoon. Evoking the beginnings of Hollywood silent film era moving into the future with great talent like Nana.” He added, “after collaborating with Solange Franklin and Nana, the final look came so naturally.”

Get the Look:
- “First I started by blowing Nanas natural hair with the Olivia Garden SuperHP Dryer.
- Once dry I braided her hair down using Pattern Beauty’s Jojoba Oil Blend. I needed the braids to be small and flat as a foundation under the wig.
- I started my wig prep the night before by washing & conditioning with Oribe Gold Lust. I then set the hair in place and let it air dry overnight.
- The day of, I placed the wig over my braided foundation and secure it in place with pins.
- Once it’s secure I can start to cut the hair into the desired shape. This ensures that it is most suitable for Nana’s face shape and that it falls around the head naturally. It’s important for this look to be cut on the wearer’s head. Especially when they have a lot of natural hair underneath. Shape and balance are crucial for a natural result.
- Lastly, I ironed with the ghd Chronos and finished with Oribe Superfine Strong Hair Spray. Detailing with the thin Oribe brush.”
