Recreate Jenna Ortega’s Soft, Touchable Sundance Film Festival Waves

01/26/2026

Jenna Ortega changed it up on us at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival premiere for her new movie “The Gallerist.” Instead of leaning into her more severe, gothy style, Ortega, like co-star Natalie Portman, embraced soft, glossy, “undone” hair that felt effortless and modern.

Celebrity hairstylist Dom Forletta created the look for Ortega, focusing on lightness, movement, and natural texture. To make it happen, Forletta started with a clean foundation and multi-tasking prep, using Goddess Maintenance’s BioTech Blowout Leave-In Mask. As its name suggests, the mask is powered by cutting-edge biotech to strengthen hair, protect against damage, and restore long-lasting smoothness from root to tip.

Read on for a breakdown from Forletta on the look.

Get the Look:

  1. “I started the look on Jenna’s freshly washed hair with no product in it to keep the finish light and natural. On damp hair, I evenly distributed Goddess Maintenance’s BioTech Blowout Leave-In Mask, then blow-dried smooth while creating a soft bend for effortless movement.
  2. To add some length, I incorporated extensions that were pre-prepped with BioTech Blowout to ensure seamless blending and a polished finish. I then refined the shape with a 1.5-inch curling iron, adding loose movement throughout the hair. I finished with a light mist of hairspray to tame flyaways while keeping the overall look soft, touchable, and undone.”
