Sabrina Carpenter once again blessed us with what is likely to be the song of the summer, with the release of her new single, “Manchild.” If you’re like us, you can’t stop listening to the song or obsessing over her buttery blonde curls that took center stage throughout the song’s newly dropped music video.
Carpenter’s standout hair look was brilliantly crafted by longtime colorist and Redken ambassador Laurie Heaps. Not only did she create the most beautiful blonde color for the pop singer using Redken’s new Shades EQ Pearl Vinyl Blondes, but she also freshened up her cut with some face-framing layers and curly curtain bangs.
The Tease was lucky enough to get all the details from Heaps on how she brought Carpenter’s buttery blonde look to life—including the exact Redken formula that she used. Keep scrolling for the step-by-step breakdown.
Get the Look
- Heaps used Redken Flash Lift with Bonder Inside—her go-to for lift. “It gives me total control without damaging the hair,” she said. “I used 10 volume at the back and around the hairline, then bumped it up to 20 volume on top and sides.”
- She then removed the foils as they were ready with a damp towel, letting the rest keep processing.
- After shampooing, she glossed Carpenter’s roots with Redken’s new Shades EQ Pearl Vinyl Blondes in 8NV to add that soft, grown-in vibe.
- Then she gave Carpenter a little trim, adding face-framing layers, and brought the bangs back, with a modern, disconnected feel.
