The Trend Vision Awards from Wella are going fully monochromatic this year. Pros from across the globe are being asked to create a minimal but impactful story with one color family, multiple textures and tones.
Pros can enter two total, global, Trend Vision Awards categories: Color Craft Transformation or Editorial Transformation.
Color Craft Transformation
This category challenges pros to create a complete transformation through the lens of the monochromatic trend. Focusing exclusively on color execution, this category is based on technical precision required to build depth, dimension, and movement within a singular tonal range. Combining thoughtful placement to bold saturation, artists are invited to explore how one hue can transform into.
Editorial Transformation
This category calls artists to create a monochromatic story through haircutting. While color is subjectively the focus of a Monochromatic theme, this category challenges artists with a strong editorial eye to define how fluidity through shape, structure, texture, and silhouettes can express a unified vision with a focus of suitability for the individual. From sharp architectural lines to sculpted movement, every detail should feel refined and cohesive. The challenge is to prove that monochrome is not only about simplicity, but has the opportunity to make an editorial statement.
How to Enter The Trend Vision Awards 2026
- Review the rules and regulations + key dates
- Bring your idea to life
- Photograph your work, before and after
- From the brand, “Consider angles, lighting and positioning that best represents your work per category”
- Plan your entries and categories
- You can submit the same entry in both categories and/or multiple entries within the same category
- Complete the entry form and submit
Trend Vision Awards 2026 Key Dates
- July 1: Entries open
- September 1: Entries close
- September 15: Finalists are announced on @wellaeducation
- October 19: Winners are announced at House of Wella in NYC
Trend Vision Awards 2026 Prizes
- Finalists: Six (6) finalists will receive a cash prize and a trip to House of Wella NYC in October where winners will be announced
- 1st Place: $5,000 and trip to NYC for House of Wella
- 2nd Place: $3,000 and trip to NYC for House of Wella
- 3rd Place: $1,000 and trip to NYC for House of Wella
- Winners: Two (2) winners will receive a trip to Wella’s DESTINATION 2027 in Algarve, Portugal
For advice on entering, 2025 Trend Vision Award winner Jessica Phillips says, “Whenever I’m entering a color competition, I always take a moment to slow down and DEEPLY dissect the theme, what exactly I’ll be judged on, and which entries have won in previous years so that I can get a REALLY solid grasp on what they are looking for and how I can deliver that to them.”
