Your Favorite Skincare Brands Are Now Launching Haircare Products

02/04/2022

If it seems like almost everyday you’re hearing about another skincare brand that’s made the jump over to haircare, you’re not alone. Recently, skincare leaders like The Ordinary, Neutrogena, Augustinus Bader, and Drunk Elephant have started expanding their current product lineups to now include shampoos, conditioners, serums, and other hair products that are centered on scalp health. It’s a move that is not at all surprising considering the growing “skinfication of hair” trend. More people are starting to realize how important of a role the scalp plays in laying the foundation for growing healthy hair and as a result, are turning their focus towards taking better care of the skin on their scalp.

Considering all of the knowledge that these skincare brands have regarding skincare concerns and the ingredients needed to treat them, it only makes sense that we turn towards these trusted and often beloved skincare authorities when our scalp is in need of a little TLC. If you’re curious about which of your favorite skincare brands have branched out into haircare, be sure to keep reading below.

Dr. Barbara Sturm

Dr. Barbara Sturm and her namesake brand have taken the beauty world by storm with their science-driven approach to skincare that delivers healthy, beautiful results. After dipping their toes in the haircare space with the launch of their scalp serum, the brand has now launched a full collection containing three shampoos, four serums, a conditioner, and a hair mask. Featuring three distinct hair systems—the balancing collection (targeting itchy, red scalps), the super anti-aging collection (targeting dry, damaged, chemically treated hair), and the Anti-Hair Fall collection (targeting hair loss), the line works to address specific hair concerns and encourage beautiful, healthy hair.

Recommended product: Dr. Barbara Sturm Anti-Hair Fall Shampoo, $60.00

Augustinus Bader

Since launching its much talked-about miracle moisturizer, The Cream, in 2018, Augustinus Bader has remained a go-to skincare brand among celebrities, beauty pros, and beauty lovers—and for good reason. The namesake brand, which was created by leading German stem cell scientist Professor Augustinus Bader, takes a revolutionary science-backed approach to skincare—one that they have now also lended to haircare. Called The Hair Collection, their five-product range contains a shampoo, conditioner, leave-in treatment, scalp treatment, and hair oil. Formulated with their patented ingredient TFC8 (aka Trigger Factor Complex), which is a mix of amino acids, vitamins, and synthesized molecules that support cellular renewal, their products work to support natural hair growth and the health of your strands.

Drunk Elephant

Considering how highly-coveted and beloved Drunk Elephant’s skincare products are, it’s definitely not surprising that their haircare products are just as sought-after. For their four-product line, which includes a shampoo, conditioner, scalp scrub, and tangle spray, the clean skincare brand teamed up with celebrity stylist Chris McMillan — the creator of Jennifer Aniston’s iconic “Rachel” hairstyle— to develop a complete haircare regimen focusing on the scalp. Sharing the same ingredient philosophy as the brand’s popular skincare products, all of the products in the line are free of the “Suspicious 6″(essential oils, alcohols, silicons, chemical sunscreens, fragrances and dyes, and sodium lauryl sulfate) which are a group of ingredients that can compromise your skin’s health.
