09/13/2026

Swept back but sexy. Leave it to Cyndia Harvey to make sure the Proenza Schouler SS27 runway hair was out of the way but not out of mind. In fact, we can’t stop thinking about it.

Harvey says, “The goal was to create a wet, lived-in hair look to complement the makeup and the clothes. We wanted the hair to look effortless, natural, and hide any hardware.”

To get the look, Harvey and team leaned on a suite of ghd tools, including the Speed and Sculpt.

Keep reading for a detailed breakdown of the runway hair.

Get the Look:

  1. Start by applying mousse through the hair, then brush through with the ghd Oval Dressing Brush to smooth and prep.
  2. Rough blow dry the top section using ghd Speed and the ghd The Sectioner Tail Comb to build volume at the crown. The key was to create volume while keeping the hair looking sleek and “wet”. Rough-dry the back of the hair to try to maintain its natural texture.
  3. Next, use the ghd The Sectioner Tail Comb to separate the hair into two sections: top and bottom.
  4. Pull both sides of the top section to create a ponytail and loop the string through to secure. Then loop the ponytail in the middle to hide the string. Recreate this same ponytail with the bottom section and anchor them together. The goal is to connect both sections of the hair without any hardware or string being seen.
  5. Finish off the look by touching up strands using the ghd Sculpt to add subtle bends and waves throughout the hair to create texture and dimension. Thanks to ghd’s Heat Adaptive Technology, the hair can be styled quickly and without any heat damage.
