The vibe at the SIMKHAI SS27 show was very future-facing. Lead hairstylist, the iconic, Guido Palau, used ghd tools, to create, as he says, “open-faced” and “extreme” styles for the runway.
Palau says, “The look is very graphic but with a slightly futuristic touch. It was inspired by the mid 90’s, a combination of grudge and minimalism.” Scroll to see how he and the team created each of three key runway styles.
Get the Look: Sleek & Futuristic

- Blowdry hair away from the face using the ghd Speed to create an extreme, open-face silhouette.
- Apply hairspray thoroughly to achieve a high-shine, combed-back finish
- Pass the ghd Sculpt over the ends to ensure they are ultra-straight and smooth.
- Lightly mist with dry body oil for a glistening, sleek effect.
Get the Look: Slicked Braid

- Blow-dry hair backward away from the face using the ghd Speed.
- Apply hairspray and use the ghd The Sectioner Tail Comb to slick the hair down seamlessly.
- Secure the hair into a high-tension ponytail, then braid tightly to the ends.
Get the Look: Men’s Textured Visor

- Blowdry all hair forward onto the face using the ghd Speed to build a heavy, “moppy” front fringe.
- Use the ghd Sculpt to flatten and align the hair for a sleek, straight finish.
- Lightly work in dry body oil spray to break up the texture.
