Sabrina Porsche’s story starts earlier than most: age five, to be exact. What began as braiding and experimenting with hair quickly evolved into a lifelong passion. By the time most teenagers were still figuring out what they wanted to do, Porsche was already enrolled in cosmetology school and high school. She graduated with both diplomas in hand and a license to do what she loved.
But her path to success wasn’t exactly a straight line.
After years behind the chair, Porsche realized that traditional salon life wasn’t for her. The environment didn’t align with her creativity or her vision of what a fulfilling career could be. So, she made a bold move into the corporate world, taking on a tech role at Cisco Systems that offered stability and strong pay. For seven years, she thrived professionally, but that creative spark was missing.
Eventually, Porsche took another leap, but this time to Los Angeles. She and her best friend opened a clothing store, yet retail wasn’t her perfect fit either. However, this move set off a chain of opportunities she never could have predicted.
One day, she met someone who needed wig work for America’s Next Top Model. That gig opened the door to a new world of editorial shoots, celebrity clients, and set work that reignited her passion for hair. Before long, she found herself working with her first celebrity client.
That experience reinforced the powerful lesson of learning from people who know the industry well. Porsche stresses that education and professionalism on set are essential. Without it, you risk losing clients before you even start.
When her brand manager, Lauren Davey, told her about the opportunity to collaborate with Bellami, Porsche didn’t hesitate.
“When she told me that it was Bellami, I was blown away because I’ve loved Bellami for so many years. I know they have the best hair in the game. It was an obvious yes, I was never going to say no.”
As a long-time fan of the brand, she was excited to align with a company that values quality, innovation, stylist support, (and has the best hair around.) Through Bellami’s certification program, she deepened her understanding of hair texture, density, and extension care. These are all lessons that now shape the way she educates her own clients.
Confidence is a recurring theme throughout Porsche’s story. She encourages stylists to “be full of yourself,” and not in an arrogant way, but in the belief that self-assuredness is essential to growth.
Extensions, she says, play a role in that. They’re not just about transformation; they’re about empowerment. Extensions are the ultimate confidence booster. They allow clients to feel sexier, bolder, and more like themselves.
“The best thing about extensions is that they’re not your natural hair, so you can do so much with them. You can curl, straighten, put them in an updo; it’s endless. You can give yourself a whole new look.”
Sabrina is quick to squash myths: braids aren’t always protective, wigs aren’t for everyone, and more isn’t always better when it comes to extensions.
Stylists, she says, must take time to learn about hair health, density, and maintenance. Proper brushing, washing, and product removal are key to keeping extensions in top shape and to ensuring clients stay confident long after they leave the chair.
Beyond product quality, what Porsche appreciates most about Bellami is the support.
“The team is on it: fast delivery, great communication, and genuine support. That’s what makes the difference.”
From her first K-Tip application to prepping extensions for red carpet looks, Porsche emphasizes the importance of planning, communication, and education. The three pillars she credits to Bellami’s training and stylist community.
Today, Porsche’s career is a testament to trusting your instincts, never stopping your education, and staying confident in your craft. From doing cornrows at five to styling for global icons and collaborating with Bellami, her journey proves that passion and persistence go hand in hand.
