Founded in 2004 by Gabriela Hernandez, Bésame Cosmetics brings vintage and modern-day makeup together to produce historically inspired lip, eye and face products. The brand’s highly pigmented products are housed in vintage packaging and are perfect for every skin type and color.

Inspired by the Past

Hernandez “wanted Bésame to bring romance back into the makeup industry.” So, she took her education in Fine Arts and her deep fascination with her grandmother’s makeup routine to create long-lasting formulas that are historically accurate.

For example, the brand’s most popular lipstick, “Red Velvet” is based on a popular 1946 hue that “stands the test of time.” Bésame also offers several colors of Cream Rouge that were made popular in the 1930’s.

However, the most fascinating product they offer is their Cake Mascara. Inspired by real products from the 1920’s, the mascara is water activated, comes in a reusable tin and doesn’t flake, peel or clump. It can even act as an eyeliner or eyebrow filler!

Imaginative Collections

On top of their continuing line of products, Bésame also offers collections inspired by some of entertainment’s most beloved characters. The latest addition to their cosmetics line draws inspiration from Lucille Ball and launches on June 25th. The new collection will kick off Bésame’s new “Iconic Women” series.

The Lucille Ball collection features exact color matches from the I Love Lucy star’s favorite makeup. It includes a “Club Babalu” Eyeshadow Palette, “Love That Redhead” Lipstick, “What A Peach” Lipstick, Lucy’s Face Powder Compact and Lucy’s Pencil Set. Those who purchase the entire collection will also receive Lucy’s Lashes and an I Love Lucy mini tote bag.
