After searching for years for the type of salon that she needed, Lisa of Lisa Dinh Hair Studio, decided to start her own. One where she could build young stylists up and be the mentor that they need. She has worked very hard to build her own brand & create a salon that she is incredibly proud of. She loves building relationships and building teamwork.
With over half of her career as a salon owner, she has built a strong community both in her salon and in Toronto. She joined Volume Up to discuss her path, recession, tipping, making her salon a safe space, furthering education, her time as a MoroccanOil ambassador and mentorship.

“And since I couldn’t find that, after the five years, I decided to open my own salon. It wasn’t something I knew early on in hair school. IT was something that kind of, since I couldn’t that salon, I created it. A place where I could feel safe, where we could grow and reach our full potential.”
“As my schedule just gets more busy and juggling everything, what I told them was, ‘If I can’t invest my time, I will send you to education to make sure that you’re getting education’.”
“I think how we can really help each other and support each other again, it’s like, if it’s something that a stylist can’t do, sending them to another stylist doesn’t affect your success.”
