While Jennifer Aniston has remained faithful to her now signature sleek strands in recent years, once upon a time, she was quite the hair chameleon. Throughout her impressive almost three decades long career, the actress has experimented with nearly every hairstyle, length, and shade of blonde and brunette proving that not only can she literally pull off just about any hair look, but also that she really does have some of the best hair in Hollywood.
With as many memorable mane moments as she has had, it would be almost impossible to pick a favorite look. The star seemingly proved this point when she challenged her fans last week to weigh in on their favorite Aniston hairstyle.
In true #TBT fashion, Aniston took fans on a walk down memory lane with an Instagram slideshow full of some of her most iconic hairstyles including her pigtail braids and baseball cap from the 1997 rom-com Picture Perfect, her beehive and blunt bangs from the Netflix flick, Dumplin, and, of course, “the Rachel”.
“Choose your player, hair edition…” she captioned the post, tagging her newly-launched hair company, LolaVie.
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the star’s post quickly racked up over 5.3 million “likes” and was soon flooded with comments from fans and celebrities, sharing their thoughts on the matter.
“We believe in Rachel Green supremacy,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Just go with it will forever have a special place in my heart.” Actress Ali Wentwork was stuck on a couple favorites, commenting “Marley and Me hair followed by Horrible Bosses. But will always love Rock Star hair!” Maria Sharapova—like all of us—just simply couldn’t decide, writing, “Don’t make us choose.”
And if you’re wondering what hairstyle Aniston considers to be most iconic? Well, we hate to disappoint you but, it’s certainly not “the Rachel” despite it being such a fan-favorite look. The star revealed in a 2015 interview with Glamour, that the look was “kind of cringe-y”.
“Looking back—honestly, even during that time—I couldn’t do it on my own,” she explained. “I needed [my hairstylist] Chris [McMillan] attached to my hip. Left to my own devices, I am not skilled with a hairbrush and blow-dryer.”
According to her, she considers her best hairstyle of all time to be long, natural-looking beachy waves. “That feels most like me,” she said.
