John Paul Mitchell Systems Wants to Bring A.I. to Your Salon

11/16/2020

From our cars to our home appliances and even our personal Netflix recommendations, artificial intelligence is just about everywhere. Now, thanks to new innovation from John Paul Mitchell Systems, salons are set to get the full A.I. experience too!

Launching in November, Hair AI powered by FitSkin is the first professional-only scalp and hair analysis tool. The device is designed to evaluate your clients’ hair and scalp condition, making personalized product recommendations from across the JPMS portfolio of brands. Thanks to helpful features such as a guest library, up-to-date product knowledge, and in-app stylist-to-stylist support, hairstylists can feel empowered to give their clients a more personal in-salon experience.

“At JPMS, we’re committed to salon professionals and helping them succeed. By partnering with FitSkin to develop a proprietary technology that will enhance the guest’s salon experience, we honor our promise to help stylists strengthen their business,” said Jason Yates, JPMS Chief Operating Officer. “We feel this innovation will elevate our highly talented stylist to a whole new level, and can’t wait to put this next generation technology in the hands of our hairdressers around the world.”

Taking the form of an easy-to-use clip-on attachment for iPhones, Hair AI has the potential to take your hair consultations to the next level. The way the small device works is fairly simple. After clipping the Hair AI scanner onto their phone, stylists will need to download the free JPMS Hair AI app and sync it to the scanner. After a quick scan of your client’s hair, stylists will instantly receive an in-depth hair analysis report, breaking down their hair health and scalp condition, professional treatment, and product recommendations — all of which can be easily shared with their clients in person or by email.

If you’re hoping to get your hands on this nifty little device, Hair AI will be available in limited release at select Paul Mitchell Salons on November 16th. Then, beginning January 2021, all salons and stylists can receive a Hair AI device with purchase of any new user Care and Styling Kit, so be sure to contact your local distributor for more information.
