Kylee Heath Breaks Down Amy Poehler’s Chic Low Knot at the Peabody Awards

06/26/2026

Late last May, legendary/comedian/actress/producer/writer/director/author/podcaster, Amy Poehler, received the Peabody Career Achievement Award at the 86th annual Peabody Awards ceremony —an incredible honor and she accepted, it in person, with her signature affable nonchalance. Poehler’s hair, by, frequent collaborator, Kylee Heath, was set in an effortless low knot that was just as charming as her speech.

While we can’t all capture Poehler’s ease and comedic timing, we can recreate her hairstyle. The Tease reached out to Heath directly and she generously shared the exact products (all Schwarzkopf KERATÎME) and techniques she used for the star’s Peabody Awards appearance. She says, “For the Peabody awards Amy was wearing a classic black dress and we wanted to lean into that. I wanted to do a knot in the back and keep the hair soft around her face Nothing too sleek, but also not beachy!”

Read on for the details.

Get the Look:

  1. “Every great hair style starts with the right prep and cleansed hair. To protect Amy’s blonde, I used the KERATÎME Color Protect Shampoo ($14.97) and Conditioner ($14.97).
  2. Starting on damp hair, I applied Schwarzkopf KERATÎME Deep Repair Detangling Treatment ($14.97) throughout the hair to help smooth and prep the strands. I then misted Schwarzkopf KERATÎME Anti-Frizz Spray ($14.97) through the mid-lengths and ends to create a lightweight foundation while protecting the hair from heat styling.
  3. Next, I created a center part and blow-dried the hair silky smooth using a medium round brush.
  4. Once the hair was dry, I used a 1-inch curling iron to add texture and movement. I curled the hair away from Amy’s face, alternating the direction of each curl as I worked around the head to create soft, natural-looking waves.
  5. After allowing the waves to cool, I gently tousled them with my hands and applied Schwarzkopf Keratin Root Touch-Up Spray in Medium Blonde ($12.99) along the side part and crown area for seamless coverage. I then added a bit of teasing at the roots to create subtle lift and volume at the crown.
  6. To finish, I worked a pea-sized amount of Schwarzkopf KERATÎME Bonding Oil ($14.97) through the ends for added shine and smoothness before gathering the hair into a low knot. I left a few face-framing pieces loose to keep the look soft, effortless, and playful.”
