Celebrity hairstylist Monaè Everett partnered with Mielle Organics to lead the hair direction for House of Aama’s Spring/Summer 2026 runway show at NYFW. The collaboration marked a milestone moment, uniting a Black lead hairstylist, a Black-owned haircare brand, and a Black-owned (and mother-daughter founded) fashion house.
Everett created four standout looks — the Sculpted Liquid Bob, Runway Roll, Textured Halo, and Iconic Silhouette — each designed to celebrate texture, highlight versatility, and showcase how Mielle products perform on the runway.
“I’ve worked backstage at over 25 Fashion Week seasons, and what excites me about leading House of Aama’s show with Mielle is the chance to bring cultural storytelling to life through hair. I love styling all textures — straight, wavy, curly, and coily — across both women and men. For me, this isn’t just about hair, it’s about showing the full spectrum of beauty on the runway,” says Everett.

Get the Look: Sculpted Liquid Bob

Everett describes the look as “a sleek bob with liquid-like shine, styled with a deep side part for a modern, Hollywood-inspired finish.”
- On damp hair, apply Mielle Pomegranate & Honey Curl Defining Mousse and mist with Mielle Mongongo Oil Thermal & Heat Protectant Spray. Blow-dry smooth with a round brush.
- Create a side part for added drama.
- Curl sections horizontally with a 1″ iron, brushing through to create fluid, liquid-like waves.
- Define bends and keep the style soft with a touch more mousse.
Smooth ends and add reflective shine with Mielle Rosemary Mint Scalp & Hair Strengthening Oil.
Get the Look: Runway Roll

According to Everett, this style is “a structured rolled updo with fashion-forward drama — sleek yet architectural, perfect for the runway.”
- Apply Mielle Avocado Moisturizing Hair Milk root to ends for slip and control.
- Section hair into five clean parts (fringe, two sides, two back). French braid the back sections forward to the top for control and anchoring.
- Curl all sections vertically for consistent movement.
- Release each section and roll the hair horizontally around the head, pinning in place as you go.
- Finish by rolling the fringe under to polish the crown shape.
- Mist with Mielle Mongongo Oil Style Setting Spray to lock in shine and hold.
Get the Look: Textured Halo

“A crown of defined curls that celebrates natural texture — bold, powerful, and editorial,” says Everett on this key runway look.
- Start with damp curls, working in Mielle Pomegranate & Honey Curl Smoothie to moisturize and define.
- Diffuse with Mielle Mongongo Oil Thermal & Heat Protectant Spray for frizz-free volume.
- Stretch roots lightly with a pick for a rounded “halo” shape while keeping curl integrity.
- Finger-coil any pieces that need extra pop with Mielle Coil Sculpting Custard.
- Finish with a light mist of Mielle Mongongo Oil Style Setting Spray for hold without crunch.
Get the Look: The Iconic Silhouette

Everett calls this style “a statement roll with bold shape and timeless drama — instantly recognizable from across the room.”
- Prep with Mielle Avocado Moisturizing Hair Milk to smooth and hydrate.
- Create clean sections and curl hair horizontally for body and ease of molding.
- Back-brush the crown for cushion, then sweep hair upward into a bold, structured roll.
- Secure with long pins and smooth flyaways with Mielle Rosemary Mint Edge Gel.
- Seal the look with Mielle Mongongo Oil Style Setting Spray for lasting hold and shine.
