Sienna Naturals Shows Up for Black Women

On this week’s episode of Volume Up by The Tease, Jeffrey Lunnen chats with Hannah Diop, Co-Owner/Founder of Sienna Naturals.

Hannah’s founder story starts as a young girl who struggled to understand why the clean and natural products that her family used didn’t support her hair care needs.

“…It just wouldn’t detangle. So this very early impression on me was that there was something inherently wrong with my hair, because they didn’t have a shampoo offering for me at the store. So that left a really big impression on me and stuck with me.”

As an adult she was shocked and frustrated to realize that this challenge still existed and determined that this was how she’d make her mark on the world for future generations of women with textured hair.

“…I think for textured hair care in particular, performance is extremely important in a product. And so for a clean product to work, it also has to be effective…”

Using her business background and MBA, Hannah pioneered the beauty industry, starting in her home, by solving for the challenges of herself and her customers.

“My mission with Sienna Naturals was to really create a wellness product that feels good that performs in our hair, but is made with clean ingredients.”

From growing the brand from scratch in her home to trade shows and finally her relationship with now co-founder, and textured hair ICON, Issa Rae, Hannah shares her “why” and “how,” which are sure to be inspiring to professionals everywhere looking to support all of their clients regardless of hair texture.
