Salons pros, grab your pink hair color! ICYMI: the Barbiecore era is officially upon us.
Ever since set photos from Greta Gerwig’s highly anticipated Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling started popping up all over our Instagram feeds back in April, there’s been a sizable pink shift in air. Despite the fact that the movie’s release is more than a year away, everyone can’t help but gravitate toward the ubefeminine, pretty-in-pink aesthetic that is Barbiecore.
Right now, Barbie-pink is the color of the summer, proving that people are totally ready to live in the Barbie world. Case in point: Barbiecore currently has 10.9 million views on TikTok and according to data from Google Trends, searches for the trend have continued to rise since first spiking in June 2022.
And, while the Barbiecore trend may have first laid its claim to the fashion world (think: monochromatic pink looks), it has now trickled its way into the hair space. Over the last few months, we’ve seen a number of celebs embrace the trend in the form of hot pink dye jobs and fairy floss-pink strands.

Take it from Lizzo, there is no such thing as too much pink. The singer looked good as hell with a rosy pink hair color and bouncy curls that came courtesy of her go-to hairstylist Shelby Swain. Her pink tressers perfectly complemented her equally as vibrant pink lipstick.
Machine Gun Kelly
As Machine Gun Kelly proves, even guys can get in on the Barbiecore trend. With the help of hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, the singer dyed his hair an uber-cool shade of hot pink, which he later showed off on the red carpet for his Hulu documentary, Life in Pink.
Megan Fox
Not to be outdone by her fiance, Megan Fox also tapped into the pink hair trend—opting for a pretty pastel pink hue that came courtesy of hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos.
Dua Lipa
Dua Lipa went full Barbiecore for her latest Puma campaign. With the help of her stylist Chris Appleton (and a vibrant pink wig), the singer was able to totally nail the pink hair trend.
