These Are the Most Dazzling Hair Looks From the 2023 Oscars

This year’s insanely long awards season came to a glamorous end with Sunday night’s Academy Awards. The ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, saw all of Hollywood’s best and brightest come together to celebrate the year’s top performances in film. Naturally for the big night, our favorite stars came ready to impress—particularly in the hair department. The red carpet was full of show-stopping hair moments, with sculptural updos, soft waves and hair bow-adorned looks taking center stage.

Michelle Yeoh

Michelle Yeoh made Oscars history last night when she became the first Asian woman to win Best Actress and she looked fabulous doing it, thanks to hairstylist Mara Roszak. Roszak used Fekkai products to give Yeoh “soft flowing waves for days.”

Danai Gurira

All eyes were on Danai Gurira and this towering updo, which paid homage to African women,  that hairstylist Larry Sims created for the big night.

Jessie Buckley

Jessie Buckley set the red carpet on fire with her fiery red undone bob that came courtesy of hairstylist Adir Abergel.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge

Phoebe Waller-Bridge showed off a deep side-parted curly bob on the red carpet that was styled by hairstylist Gareth Bromell.

Ashley Graham

Ashley Graham showed up and showed out with her twisted sculptural braided updo that was created by hairstylist Mashal Afzalzada.

Tems

All eyes may have been on Tems’s sculptural gown but we can’t stop thinking about her sleek and chic updo that was styled by hairstylist Ashanti Lation.

Fan Bing Bing

Fan Bing Bing leaned fully into the Old Hollywood vibes with her classic finger waves. 

Halle Berry

Halle Berry looked flawless with her curly asymmetrical bob that was styled by hairstylist Sara Seward.

Rihanna

Rihanna shut down the red carpet with her perfectly messy topknot which featured face-framing tendrils. Her look came courtesy of hairstylist Yusef

Cate Blanchett

Hairstylist Robert Vetica went heavy on the texture for this intricate updo that he created for Cate Blanchett. 

Jessica Chastain

Hairstylist Renato Campora totally nailed it with these glamorous Old Hollywood waves that he created for Jessica Chastain

Rooney Mara

Hairstylist Adir Abergel created “hair origami” for Rooney Mara with this chunky chignon. 

Florence Pugh

This updo that hairstylist Peter Lux dreamed up for Florence Pugh is pure magic: the ends of her sleek ponytail doubled as side-swept baby bangs. Not to mention, how darling is that tiny black bow that he used to finish off the look.

Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey went full Disney Princess with her elegant twisted loc updo that was styled by hairstylist Tinisha Meeks.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman looked breathtaking with her middle-parted loose waves that were created by Hairstylist Adir Abergel.

Angela Bassett

These voluminous curls that hairstylist Randy Stodghill created for Anglea Bassett, using Navy haircare and Olivia Garden tools, are an absolute dream.

Ana de Armas

Ana de Armas’s soft, bouncy blowout is a red carpet win. Her flawless look came courtesy of hairstylist Jenny Cho, who used Rene Furterer products. 

Sandra Oh

Sandra Oh sported the dreamiest tousled wavy updo that was crafted by hairstylist Tanya Stine.

Ava DuVernay

We have hairstylist Saniyyah Sahar to thank for how amazing Ava DuVernay’s locs look swept back in this ponytail. She looks so good!

Andie MacDowell

Andie MacDowell stunned with a tousled updo that came courtesy of hairstylist Ben Skervin.

Stephanie Hsu

Stephanie Hsu hit the red carpet with gorgeous side-swept waves that were styled by hairstylist Brian Fisher using Fekkai hair products. 

Jamie Lee Curtis

Jamie Lee Curtis wowed with her silver pixie cut that was styled by hairstylist Sean James.

Winnie Harlow

For Winnie Harlow’s look, it was all about effortless texture. Hairstylist Davontae’ Washington styled this messy French roll for the star and it looks stunning.

Zoe Saldana went for effortless and easy hair, opting for middle-parted pulled back strands that were styled by hairstylist Mara Roszak

Mindy Kaling

Hairstylist Marc Mena used Fable & Mane products to create this elevated half-up style, which featured lots of texture, for Mindy Kaling.

Janelle Monae

We are seriously obsessed with Janelle Monae’s eye-catching braids. Hairstylist Nikki Nelms wove silver metallic string through her three cornrows and used Bumble and bumble products to finish it off.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox served “ethereal bladerunner” with slicked woven bun that came courtesy of hairstylist Kiyah Wright

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga was the epitome of chic with her clean French braid that was styled by hairstylist Frederic Aspiras using Joico products. 

Vanessa Hudgens

Hairstylist Danielle Priano absolutely slayed this sleek looped bun, which featured a black velvet bow, that she crafted for Vanessa Hudgens. According to Priano, “classic, timeless, and elegance” were the inspiration for the look.

Allison Williams

Allison Willaims looked elegant as ever sporting a simple chignon with face-framing pieces that was styled by hairstylist David von Cannon.

Eva Longoria

Thanks to hairstylist Ken Paves, slicked wet hair has never looked cooler on a red carpet. Paves. Paves crafted this uber-cool combed back hairstyle for Eva Longoria using L’Oreal Paris products and we can’t get enough of it.
