Cardi B showed up to the 2026 BET Awards last night with her iconic sleek look: floor-length, pin-straight black hair paired with her signature glam. Celebrity hairstylist Tokyo Stylez and makeup artist Erika La Pearl, both frequent collaborators of Cardi, were the duo behind it all — and here’s exactly how they pulled it off.
The Hair
The process started with getting the hair to black, then Tokyo Stylez prepped the hair with the Red by Kiss 2000 Ceramic Detangler Hair Dryer ($28.11) before going in with the Red by Kiss Hot Styler Pressing Comb ($25.00) to get the hair flat at the root. She finished with the Red by Kiss 1″ Adjustable Heat Ceramic Styler ($28.12) to straighten through the lengths for that sleek, polished finish completing the unit Cardi wore for the red carpet — a different look from the one she performed in on stage.
The Makeup
Celebrity makeup artist Erika La Pearl completed the look with i-Envy So Wispy Lashes ($4.99), stacking Style No. 1 and No. 4 for a feathery, cat-eye effect.
“Ienvy is my go to lashes for Cardi,” La Pearl tells The Tease. “I love the way it gives her the cat eye effect and elongates her eyes. One of Cardi’s best features is her eyes and with Ienvy it is easy to stack to give that luxe feathery wispy look.”
