As she makes the rounds promoting Netflix’s buzzy new romantic comedy “Voicemails for Isabelle,” Zoey Deutch is turning heads with more than just her performance — the actress just debuted a stunning new hair color transformation courtesy of Tracey Cunningham, Schwarzkopf Professional’s U.S. Creative Director of Color & Technique.
Meet “Hazelnut Twist”
The new color is what Cunningham calls, “Hazelnut Twist.” She tells The Tease, “For Zoey’s look, I wanted to create a brunette that felt brighter, softer, and full of dimension while still looking completely natural. We made a significant color change by lifting her overall color first, then layering in a mix of fine babylights and chunkier highlights to create movement and light reflection.”
She adds, I call the look ‘Hazelnut Twist’ because it has a rich brunette foundation with warm, luminous ribbons woven throughout. It’s polished, effortless, and the kind of brunette that looks beautiful from every angle.”
The shade speaks to a growing appetite for low-maintenance brunette color that still feels elevated, luminous, and modern.
To bring the look to life, Cunningham layered precision highlights, root color, and glossing techniques to enhance Deutch’s natural dimension while weaving in soft brightness and movement from root to end.
