Chrishell Stause is trading her signature brunette for one of summer’s biggest color moments. The ‘Selling Sunset’ star debuted a rich, dimensional red courtesy of celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, created with Schwarzkopf Professional.
Meet ‘Whiskey Copper’
The shade, dubbed “Whiskey Copper,” lands somewhere between soft auburn and rich cinnamon — a copper-red that brings warmth, depth, and serious shine without tipping into orange or burgundy territory.
The transformation arrives as red continues its reign as one of the year’s defining color trends. Instead of one flat, universal red, colorists are increasingly customizing multiple tones to each client’s skin tone and features, layering shades to build movement and light reflection for a result that reads as natural and expensive.
“I wanted to create a red that felt tailored to Chrishell, not trendy for the sake of being trendy. Something rich, dimensional, and sophisticated. ‘’Whiskey Copper’ lives between auburn and cinnamon with a luminous finish that catches the light beautifully from every angle,” Appleton shares.
The Exact Formula
Chris started with Schwarzkopf Professional Color Remover to lift Chrishell’s previous artificial pigment and create a clean, even base. From there, he layered multiple shades of Igora Vibrance to build dimension throughout — combining copper, cinnamon, and warm auburn rather than relying on a single flat tone, for a finish with movement from every angle. He sealed it all in with an Igora Vibrance gloss to refine the tone, boost shine, and blend the shades seamlessly.

Below is the the exact Schwarzkopf Professional formula Appleton used to create Chrishell’s ‘Whiskey Copper’:
- Prep: Schwarzkopf Professional Color Remover
- Base: Igora Vibrance: 6-78 + 6-0
- Mid-Lengths: Igora Vibrance: 9-7 + 7-77 (1:1)
- Ends: Igora Vibrance: 9-7
- Finish: Igora Vibrance: 0-00 Clear Gloss
