Selena Gomez joined “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” looking like she stepped right out of the 60s. Her hair, done by celebrity hairstylist Renato Campora, was styled into an oval-shaped chignon.
Total soft girl vibes. But, to get the style, Campora used a thoroughly modern brand, Alterna Haircare!
Read on for a breakdown directly from Campora, including the exact Alterna products he used for the “I Said I Love You First” singer.

- “On clean towel-dried hair, I sectioned out large three-inch sections and used both the Alterna Universal Heat Styling Spray and Alterna Rapid Repair Spray from mid-sections to ends.
- Using a round brush, I dried the hair using upward motions so the roots could be directed upward for a beautiful, clean nape for the chignon.
- Once the section was dry, I sprayed Alterna Perfect Texture Spray on the roots for grip. This is essential for a tight and secure bun. These steps are repeated for the rest of the back of the head, and then I clipped the front and sides away for now.
- Now that the hair in the back is prepped, I brushed all the hair upwards and secured it with an elastic in a high pony.
- Next, I blow-dried the front and sides with the same Alterna Universal Heat Styling Spray and Alterna Rapid Repair Spray from mid sections to ends. This time, the roots are directed backwards.
- After, I spray a bit more Alterna Perfect Texture Spray on the roots.
- I added the Alterna Replenishing Moisture CC Cream to the top layer for shine and married the front section with the back section, creating a snatched pony.
- Next, I curled the tail of the pony with a large barrel iron.
- Spray Alterna Perfect Texture Spray for more body, then apply Alterna Replenishing Moisture CC Cream for extra shine and hold!
- Then, I added a chignon net and made a perfect oval-shaped chignon and sprayed Alterna Working Hairspray all over to seal everything in. Voila!”
